Fossett & Brugger,
Chartered
AND
O'Malley, Miles, Nylen &
Gilmore, P.A.
Proudly Announce
the Merger of the Two Law Firms
Two of Maryland’s top Washington suburban law firms announced
their intent today to merge assets and holdings into one entity. Effective September 1, 2006, O'Malley,
Miles, Nylen & Gilmore, P.A., with offices in Calverton and Annapolis,
Maryland, will be joined by Fossett & Brugger, Chartered with office in
Greenbelt and La Plata. The Firm will continue to be known as O'Malley,
Miles, Nylen & Gilmore, P.A. and retain its Calverton headquarters.
“We are pleased to announce the merger. Both Firms are experiencing strong growth
in their practice areas and the joining of the two Firms allows us both to
maximize our potential. It allows us
to better serve current and future clients with an even broader range of
services and areas of specialization and legal expertise. Incoming attorneys Nancy Slepicka, Bill
Shipp, John Fredrickson and Len Lucchi are talented lawyers with a
reputation of excellence. Each of
them is a committed legal professional, and we are very pleased to include
them as part of our team,” said John P.
Davey, Managing Director of O'Malley, Miles, Nylen &
Gilmore, P.A.
“We are proud of the legacy of Fossett &
Brugger first established by George Brugger and Jack Fossett and built upon
by the current principals. We look
forward to the opportunity posed by the joining of these two accomplished
and respected Firms”, stated Bill Shipp, Managing Principal of
Fossett & Brugger. “Both
groups have compatible clients, cultures, attorneys and staff,” Shipp
said. He added, “Bottom line,
this will allow each Firm to better serve its existing clients and expand
on the business opportunities both Firms currently enjoy.”
The merger brings O'Malley, Miles, Nylen &
Gilmore, P.A.’s total number of attorneys to twenty-four, with varied
areas of practice concentration including: administrative, real estate
transactions, estate planning and administration, tax and business
planning, land use law and litigation, as well as legislative
representation at the County and State levels. Chartered in 1966, the original
O’Malley and Miles Firm merged with Nylen and Gilmore in 1994. Fossett & Brugger was chartered in
1975 by Jack Fossett and the late George Brugger. The attorneys associated in both Firms
are recognized for their representation of many of the most significant
land development projects in suburban Maryland. The combined Firm estimates $7.6 Million
of revenue in 2007. “We
believe this is a very good opportunity to bring like-minded, successful
attorneys together so that a stronger Firm is forged to better assist our
clients” stated Davey, who will continue as the Managing Director.
