John P. Davey is an accomplished practitioner and business advocate who routinely advises corporate decision makers in all aspects of their business practices.  As the Managing Director of O’Malley, Miles, Nylen & Gilmore, P.A. and as a former Chief Administrative Officer of the Prince George’s County Government, Mr. Davey has firsthand knowledge of the myriad challenges facing regional business leaders.  He utilizes his executive-level experience to advise Chief Executive Officers, Managing Members of Limited Liability Companies, and other business leaders on matters relating to transactions and formation, contract preparation and negotiation, acquisitions, strategic planning, and conflict resolution.

In addition to his business expertise, Mr. Davey has significant experience in the successful representation of builders and developers of mixed-use and transit-oriented residential and commercial projects, including such clients as The Peterson Companies, Foulger-Pratt/Argo Investments, and Prince George’s County, Maryland.  Mr. Davey’s twelve year tenure on the Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) equips him with a unique perspective on governmental agency regulatory processes and makes him an effective leader for facilities-intensive projects.  In conjunction with his representation of builders and developers of large development projects, he has acquired extensive knowledge of the public financing approval process and has skillfully counseled his clients on how to secure such financing for their projects.  Mr. Davey regularly represents business owners, builders, and developers before administrative agencies at the State, County, and Municipal levels throughout Maryland.

Mr. Davey is one of a handful of attorneys in Maryland to be accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program as a LEED Accredited Professional, and has the distinction of being the first LEED accredited attorney with offices in Prince George’s County.  He utilizes his knowledge of green development and construction practices to advocate for his clients during contract negotiation and at the site plan approval level.

Mr. Davey serves as a Member on the Board of Directors of the region’s leading business organization, the Greater Washington Board of Trade.  Mr. Davey is highly esteemed by his professional colleagues for his business acumen and experience, and serves as a Director of the Med-Chi Insurance Agency and Old Line Bank.  He is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington, and is on the Executive Committee of the Federal City Council.  Mr. Davey earned his Masters in Public Administration and J.D. degrees from the American University, and is admitted to practice in Maryland and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
